2×2 Rib Hat

Hello Darlings!

Today I’m going to share with you a free knitting pattern for a 2×2 rib hat. I recently made one for Damian and one for myself. It’s an easy project that is great for beginners. They are really warm and you can wear them a couple of different ways. Because of the stretch from the rib pattern, they are pretty much one size fits all.

Items needed:

1 skein of bulky weight yarn of choice

US Size 6 circular needles or DPNs

A yarn needle

A marker to mark where the beginning/end of each round is

Because of the stretch of the rib pattern you don’t need to worry about a gauge.

Abbreviations:

K – knit

P – purl

ssk – slip slip knit

K2tog – knit 2 together

To Bind Off: Cut the yarn so that you have about a 4-5 inch tail and thread it onto your yarn needle. Use the yarn needle to thread the tail through your 16 knit stitches while taking them off of the needles and pull to close the top of the hat. Weave in all yarn ends.
